Fresh from the rigours of BeerX in Sheffield, Croxsons proudly continued their long association with SIBA as gold sponsors at the SIBA National Independent Beers Awards 2017.
This year Croxsons sponsored two categories in SIBA’s Smallpack competition that both canned and bottled beers could enter. The 330ml bottled stout from Fyne Ales, brewed in collaboration with De Molen in the Netherlands, came out top by winning the coveted Supreme Champion Gold. And Idle Valley Brewery picked up the second Croxsons sponsored gold award for Smallpack Standard Bitters & Pale Ales for their Vacant Gesture blonde ale. Many congratulations go to Jamie Delap of Fyne Ales and Chris Harrison-Hawkes of Idle Valley Brewery!
SIBA say the awards have highlighted the diversity of independent craft beer that is now being brewed in the UK, with very different beers taking home awards – the case in point being Fyne Ales’ Mills & Hills – a rich, dark and strong 9.5% imperial stout.
Tim Croxson, Croxsons’ COO, said: “We were delighted to be category sponsors at the SIBA Awards this year, particularly as the winners are using Croxsons’ bottles! The standard of entries this year was extremely high and it was fantastic to see so many craft varieties on show. The UK ale industry is in excellent health and I look forward to maintaining our involvement in the future.”
