This year’s Packaging Innovation 2016 event will be held on the 24th and 25th February 2016 at the NEC in Birmingham. Along with the co-located Label&Print and Empack, the latest developments and products in the market will be showcased this month, along with a wide variety of seminars to inspire those attending the event.
What’s on offer this year?
The exhibition will give visitors a chance to see products first-hand, and physically hold them. This is a great opportunity to be inspired by guest speakers, and experience the creativity behind the latest products and trends. Attendees will also have the chance to talk to peers and suppliers to find out about the most recent ideas, as well as leaving with some fresh, new ideas.
The highlights for 2016
Some of the key highlights for Packaging Innovations 2016 include seminars such as “Packaging rationalisation for different markets” with Anup Pala from GÜ Puds, and visitors can find out about safety and compliance challenges that the food industry can face from Alison Ingle at Nestle. There will also be the chance to attend “Ask the Experts” sessions about branding and sustainable thinking, as well as an interactive Q&A session.
Other things to look out for
Along with the highlights, there are a number of other things going on at Packaging Innovations this year. These include the BIG Print Debate, which looks at world issues regarding print, as well as The Pharmaceutical Symposium, which aims to inspire pharmaceutical companies about their coding, marking, packaging and labelling.
For those using cartons, there will be a specialised BPIF Cartons’ Chatroom to facilitate relationships between you as the brand owner and key suppliers. The Retail Symposium will include speakers from a range of large corporations including Amcor, Retail in Action and The Co-operative.
Areas of interest
One interesting area is the Drinks Symposium, which this year will be exhibiting a variety of brand design and packaging from different alcoholic brands. These will consist of three award-winning whiskies as well as a range of spirits, all marketing themselves to a range of different consumers.
Exhibitors will also be given the opportunity to pitch their ideas at The Ecopack Challenge and Lion’s Lair, and receive one-to-one advice from leading packaging experts. Happy Hour is from 14:30-15:30 and will allow guests to enjoy drinks during the exhibition.
